Savings Accounts

A Regular Share Savings Account for Everyone

You can establish membership with BlueOx Credit Union when you open a Regular Share savings account, our most basic savings account, with just a $5 deposit.  Membership will allow you to take advantage of our other products and services.

Federal Share Insurance

Member investments are safe at BlueOx CU. Each member's account is insured to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Association (NCUA). Not one penny has ever been lost by a member of a federally insured credit union.

Many different types of savings accounts are available to our BlueOx members. Save goal-by-goal with a dedicated share account to set aside funds beyond the regular share account.

Special Share Account

Special share accounts are a secondary type of savings account that earn a higher dividend than the regular share account, but do not have life savings insurance.

Club Accounts

We offer two types of club accounts - Christmas Club and Vacation Club (sometimes called a “Summer Account”). Vacation and Christmas can be two budget busters, if you don't plan and save ahead. Club accounts can help you prepare for these big expenses. Payroll deduction can make saving even easier.

Club accounts do have a minor restriction - only six withdrawals may be made per month from these accounts, but that can also encourage you to increase your balance.

Christmas club account funds disburse once per year on November 1. If you have a share draft/checking account, the proceeds are automatically deposited there. If you do not have a checking account, funds are deposited to your savings, unless you have requested a check. Checks are typically available for pick up at the Battle Creek office for a week, and then are deposited in the U.S. Mail for delivery.

Both accounts have minimum balance requirements of $100 to earn a dividend.
